Thai-Inter Cultural Exchange (ICE) is an educational and cultural exchange organization. Its purpose is to promote international understanding and goodwill by providing high quality educational and cultural exchange opportunities to study in the United States through the experience of living with a volunteer American Host Family. ICE provides the opportunity to all secondary high schools students throughout Thailand to participate in this program. The students will enroll at the American Public High Schools and be living with the American Host Families. The Host families will provide room and board, a quiet place to study during the students studying for one academic year in the United States. ICE is cooperate with the Program of Academic Exchange (PAX), Cultural Academic Student Exchange (CASE) in the United States.
THE ICE and THE AMERICAN PARTNERS ICE and American partners (PAX, CASE) maintain a professional staff. W e also have a network of community coordinators throughout the United States. The Regional Coordinator hires and oversees the work of the local Community Coordinator (CC) or the local Community Representative (CR) . The CC/CR acts as the liaison between the host family, school and the American Partners' offices. The CC/CR makes a phone call and visits the host family and the student on a regular basis to assess the student's progress and assists both the student and the host family with the adjustment process. It is important that each student's progress is monitored and the CC/CR offers the local support needed.

ICE has been set up for Thai-Inter Cultural Exchange. ICE is appointed by PAX-Program of Academic Exchange, CASE Cultural Academic Student Exchange, which are designated to administer individual programs and provide cultural exchange program by U.S. Department of State and are in the Advisory List of CSIET-The Council On Standards for International Educational Travel, which establishes standard to which international student exchange programs must adhere and a process for evaluating these programs. |

PAX and CASE are the programs... which select volunteer Thai students to study in the American Public High Schools for one academic year. The students who wish to participate in the program need to meet these qualifications:

Age-must be 15 18 years on the traveling date. |

The average grade of English and GPA grade must be C up. |
| » |
Interested in learning new culture and can adapt to new environment. |
Types of Volunteer Students and Program Fee :

the first three excellent students who pass SLEP TEST 90% up and have GPA 3.50 up ( 3 scholarships) |

the students who pass SLEP Test 80 % up and have GPA 3.00 up ( 5 scholarships) |
| » |
the students who pass SLEP Test 70% up, have GPA 2.75 up and their parents are working as the government officers or government enterprise personnel ( 20 scholarships) |

the students who pass SLEP Test 60 % up and have GPA 2.00 up ( 25 scholarships)
(Each student will get only one type of scholarship and the scholarship exclude Air fare ticket, Visa fee, and Airport tax) |
| The result of SLEP test and qualified applicants :
ICE will inform the students who pass the test and are qualified to get interview by telephone or by Post mails as the addresses in the students' applications. The students who pass all selecting procedures will be eligible to participate in the American Academic Exchange Program and study in the American Public High School and living with the American Host families for one academic year as J-1 visa holders. When the students have achieved their goals and completed the program year in the United States and return to Thailand; the students can study in the next grade at their old schools as have already been determined by the Ministry of Education in Thailand. |
The American Host Family:
All host families participating in the program are volunteers, the students will be living with the American volunteer host families. Host families are the foundation of the program and have been carefully recruited and scrutinized by the American Organizations ( PAX and CASE ). The students will be living with the host families as a member of the family, the student may have to share a bedroom with host's child who is the same sex and age. The students should offer his/her services to help with the housework. The students will have a good chance to enrich their experience and improve English from their routine lives.

Moreover, student will not only guardian by host parent but they also be visited by area representative who is prompt to assist student in emergency through 24 hours. Area representative will send quarterly report to natural parents that help them to follow up theirs child performances. |
